Shallaki (Boswellia serrata) aka Indian Frankincense


Shallaki or Sallai guggulu, has been used for thousands of years in Ayurveda as the extract containing anti- inflammatory properties. It is also widely used as a wonder drug for treatment of against arthritis, rheumatism and its related disorders. Ayurveda believes that every disorder or ailment in the body is due to an imbalance of the doshas. The whole focus of this science is to correct the balance of the doshas, which indirectly gets rid of the disease.   1.     Arthritis: The anti-arthritic properties of Shallaki make it one of the most widely used herbal medication for the treatment of gout, rheumatoid and osteo - arthritis, cervical spondylosis, ankylosing spondilitis and other similar ailments. This medicine reduces the vata dosha between the joints, leading to its smoother functioning. Recent research has shown Shallaki extract to be more effective in reducing inflammation and symptoms of arthritis than pharmaceutical alternatives.
